In addition, as a pediatric office, we have performed many thousands of vaccinations, not only to children but also the parents of our practice for over 40 plus years. In the spirit of community service, we have been approved to offer COVID vaccination per CDC and IDPH guidelines, currently to adults in groups 1A and 1B. We anticipate eventually vaccinating children. We are working closely with the IDPH and our local BOH, to offer COVID vaccination to our community. If you are in need of COVID vaccination, call our office at 630-357-1030. As of 2/2/21, we are able to vaccinate 20 adults per day. Our ability to vaccinate depends on the supply of vaccine from the state and our local BOH. If you have scheduled a COVID vaccine with our office, please click the button below and complete the COVID 19 Vaccine Registration Form.
Please download and complete the form before coming to our office. This will expedite your visit. Bring your form and insurance card with you.

These patients will be seen quickly minimizing their stay in our office. They will not stop by our reception area. There will be no mixing of febrile patients with our afebrile patients to ensure your safety.
We have changed our office scheduling policy. We are scheduling well visits for children during our afternoon office hours. No sick children are being seen at that time to ensure that no child would be exposed to COVID. We have eliminated any waiting in our office. When you come, you will go directly into an exam room. NO WAITING. We ask that you keep your child's normal routine visits so that we can maintain their proper vaccination schedule and monitor your child's growth and development, especially in the first year of life. All doctors and staff will be wearing masks and the proper attire. We ask that only one parent accompany each patient if appropriate. Upon arrival, all patients will have a temperture measured and will be offered a mask is you don't have one.
It was announce on 3/19/20, that all insurance companies, including Medicaid, were required to reimburse physians for phone calls and digital telemedicine. The law also stated this requirement would expire on July 1. However, since the pandemic continues, most insurance companies are still providing coverage for a televisit. We perform telemedicine visits with the use of doximity software. Our charge for a televisit is $40. If that televist results in a regular office visit within 24 hours, we will apply that fee to your co pay. If your insurance allows for televisits, the charge is your usual copay. To arrange for televisit, our staff will collect your credit card information on the phone at the time of scheduling. We will either set up a specific time to call you or you can elect for us to call you as soon as we can. Children with symptoms not appropriate for televisit will be offered a visit to our isolation room. If an office visit is unacceptable to you, we will make a housecall. All housecalls are being done by Dr. Rubin. We will contact you within 24 hours and set up a mutually agreed time to meet you at your home.
We are able to test for COVID 19 infections using a direct florescent antibody test made by Quidel, here in the US. We are also able to to test for influenza A, influenza B and Strep infections.. These tests significantly help us determine the cause of any febrile child's illness. Our tests take only 15 minutes. In addition, we can use this test for screening of camp, schools and job entry. Tests are being offered as needed for ill patients and also for those who are being required to test for detection of silent carriers.

Unlike the field of medicine, pediatrics has a long history of dealing with preventiatrive measures to detect and treat problems early. This process enables us to obtain the best results of treatments. We belive that early intervention is best for children. We closely follow your child's first 2 years of growth and development while offering proven methods of parenting and saftey advice to enable your child to grow to his or her maximim potential. We offer vaccines at safe and effective intervals. We screen your child for developmental problems, anemia, tuberculosis, lead exposure, diabetes, urinary tract infections and depression on regular intervals. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics health screening guidelines.
Illinois law requires a school physidal exam within a year of entry to preschool, kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade and college.
In addition to the physical exam students are screened for TB, Lead, Diabetes, and Anemia. A student must also be immunized against a long list of infections for which the specifics depend on the student's age and grade. Our pediatricins will eavluate your child's immunization records and inform you what you need to be compliant with the laws and what vaccinations are optional but still recommended.
The CDC recommeds flu vacination for all children and adults. We strive to acheive this goal by providing a Flu Prevention Program.. Each fall we call every patient who had the vaccine last year and offer them this year's flu vaccine. In addition, all patients and their parents are offered a flu vaccine when they are seen for their yearly exam in the fall. Children younger than 2 years and adults older than 65 are at an increased risk of complications from flu. In order to provide the best possible protection to our young children, a flu vaccine should be taken by any caretaker, chronically ill child or immuno compromized child. To that end, we offer the flu vaccine as a convience to any care taker of infants or children. When a patient presents to our office with symptoms of flu, we have the abiltiy to test for influxenza A or B stains using a nasal swab. This early detections enables us to offer early treatment and provide the best possible out comes.
